Cookie Policy
This site is allergic to trackers. The only first-party preference we set is a tiny local flag so the cookie notice stays dismissed. Third-party cookies appear only if you start a YouTube video.
First-party preference
When you press the acknowledgement on the banner, the browser stores a localStorage key such as metro2039wiki-cookie-ok. It is not an HTTP cookie in the advertising sense. It does not identify you across devices. It expires when you clear storage for this domain.
We use that flag so the banner is not a second HUD you have to check every time you open the filter timer. It has no effect on guides, scores (there are none), or language choice.
YouTube after click
Guide pages may include an official trailer facade. The iframe is created on click. At that point YouTube / Google may set cookies according to their own policy. If you do not want that, do not press play. The local thumbnail still illustrates the article.
Hosting
Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies for security on some networks. Those are the host’s, not an editorial tracker we configured. We do not run a marketing pixel, a Facebook tag, or a personalisation suite.
Your controls
Use your browser’s site-data settings to delete the acknowledgement flag. Use a content blocker if you wish; the wiki is static HTML and does not require third-party scripts to read. Legal pages remain English for every language of the site. See also privacy and terms.

Frequently asked questions
+ Do I have to accept cookies to read guides?
No. The banner is an acknowledgement, not a paywall. Content is visible either way.
+ Why is there a banner at all?
To tell you, plainly, that a local flag and optional YouTube playback are the whole story.
+ Can I opt out of YouTube?
Yes. Never click play. Articles still work.
