METRO 2039 Gear

Gear in METRO 2039 is not a cosmetic locker. A visor is a lung. A watch is a clock on your life. A shotgun is a room tax. These pages only list what official trailers and published previews put on camera, then send you to the guide that teaches you not to waste it.

Three shelves, one loadout

Split the kit the way the game seems to. Weapons are the things that spend metal. The Shatun is the new signature name on its own page because trailer copy singled it out. Equipment are the things that stay on your body: helmet, mask, bracer, lighter, UV, folio. Items are the stackables that vanish: filters, medkits, ammo types, attachment parts. If a writer invents a laser rifle that never appeared, it will not be on this desk.

Preview customisation is real and granular. IGN swapped a single-barrel shotgun for a double-barrel and then started stacking scopes, hilts and muzzles. That work happens at benches and on the backpack, which is why crafting is the sister guide to this hub. Do not read a gun page as a DPS spreadsheet. Read it as a list of tools that all drink from the same two resource pails.

The signature new name on camera is the Shatun, shown firing in the Hunter reel. Throwing knives paid for themselves in IGN’s stealth sections. The digital watch is the piece of “gear” that will end more runs than any mutant. Treat the bracer as equipment, not jewellery, and open survival the moment you start thinking about air.

How we will update this after launch

February 2027 will dump a full inventory screen on us. When it does, these three child pages will grow tables: damage bands, filter duration, attachment slots. Until that screenshot exists, the honest version is a field catalogue plus links into combat and how to play.

Collectors should also skim editions. The physical Spartan helmet replica is a 1:1 of The Stranger’s in-game helmet, which is itself a piece of equipment with a gas-mask stack. The object you put on a shelf is the object the protagonist uses to not die. That is the Metro joke, and it is not a joke.

Frequently asked questions

+ Is there an official METRO 2039 weapon list?

Not as a posted spreadsheet. We log names and types that appeared in trailers and previews on the weapons page.

+ Does gear carry over from Exodus?

No one has been shown importing an Aurora stash. 2039 is a new protagonist with a new pack. See versus Exodus.

+ Where do I learn to use the watch?

Equipment names it. Survival teaches it. The filter timer rehearses it.
