METRO 2039 Platforms and PC Notes
Four storefronts, three families of hardware, one single-player campaign. METRO 2039 is not a mobile port and not a last-gen SKU. This page is the compatibility sheet as of the 2026 store pages, plus the one hardware warning 4A actually spoke: ray tracing is not a toggle they plan to treat as optional frosting.
Where you can wishlist it
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, PC on Steam (app 2590240), Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC / Microsoft Store. Deep Silver’s site lists those storefronts together. Xbox Play Anywhere is printed on the Xbox product page: buy once, play on Xbox console and PC. That is the only cross-save/cross-buy sentence we will treat as official until a PlayStation-PC bridge is posted — and it has not been.
Steam currently shows full controller support, DualShock USB and DualSense USB flags. That is not a control table. It is a store tag. Face-button maps live on controls as preview-plus-series convention until 4A publishes a chart. There is no Switch SKU, no PS4 SKU, no Xbox One SKU in any cited listing.
February 2027 is the shared window. See release date for how that month was locked. Editions and the helmet replica are platform-agnostic as products but the physical box will have a SKU; editions tracks that when a retailer exists.
PC: what 4A said, what Steam did not
Steam’s requirements block is still a stub: 64-bit OS, fields otherwise empty. Anyone posting a complete “official” CPU/GPU grid is quoting a guess. The guess that is not a guess is the renderer. 4A told interviewers the render was rebuilt to be fully ray-traced and that ray-tracing-capable hardware is a requirement they were willing to set because 2027 machines should clear it. If your card cannot RT, do not expect a mercy preset until the studio contradicts that interview.
Exodus Enhanced already lived on RT global illumination. 2039 is the same studio doubling down. DLSS, FSR, frame generation, and a Steam Deck verdict are unpublished. We will not paste a third-party “RTX 3060 minimum” table and call it Deep Silver. When Steam fills the box, this paragraph becomes a chart.
Languages and ratings
Steam’s language table, as of this writing, ticks English for interface, audio and subtitles, and marks Russian as not supported. 4A has spoken about a Ukrainian version. German fans have asked about voice-over; GameStar reported no final publisher answer yet. This wiki’s own translations are editorial (English, German, French, Spanish) and are not a claim about in-game audio.
ESRB and PEGI numbers are still a mess of “rating pending” and outlet-specific 18 / Mature labels from preview events. Assume adult violence, language and horror. Parental controls on console stores will be the legal answer, not a wiki badge.

- Last-gen and Switch — not listed.
How to prepare the machine
SSD is a series habit and a 2027 expectation; 4A has not posted a gigabyte number we trust. Keep a pile of free NVMe space anyway. Update GPU drivers in January 2027, not on launch morning. If you are an Exodus veteran, your muscle memory for controls will mostly survive; your GPU assumptions might not. Read versus Exodus for the design shift, not for a benchmark.

Frequently asked questions
+ Is METRO 2039 Xbox exclusive?
No. It launches on PS5 and PC as well. Xbox hosted the reveal.
+ Does Play Anywhere include Steam?
Play Anywhere is an Xbox / Microsoft Store relationship. Steam is a separate PC SKU unless a later post says otherwise.
+ Will it run on GTX 10-series?
4A described RT-capable hardware as a requirement. A GTX card without usable RT is a bad bet. Wait for the Steam box.
+ Is there split-screen or co-op?
Mode is single-player. No co-op has been shown.
