What the show actually shipped

24 August 2026: 4A and Deep Silver posted the first look at the Collector’s Edition. Centrepiece is a wearable, full-scale replica of The Stranger’s battle-scarred Spartan helmet, built from the in-game 3D model, hinged visor, integrated gas-mask elements, unique scratches. Pre-orders open later in 2026. The run is limited. An official interest list exists. The replica was on display in Hall 9.1. Details live on editions and in the Spartans lore note. Do not treat a reseller Photoshop as a crate list.

25 August 2026: Opening Night Live. Executive producer Jon Bloch and co-creative director / audio lead Pavel Ulmer introduced Renegade, a two-minute in-engine trailer. 4A’s own upload is the video in the middle of this page. It is the first proper look at Sevastopolskaya, at infiltration as a stated mix of stealth and violence, and at The Stranger asking for information in a station already described as plague-struck by the Novoreich. Stealth is the mechanical reading of that clip.

Show floor through 30 August: playable METRO 2039 in Hall 9.1, with hardware partners named in coverage. That is why late-August hands-on pieces exist from Metro, Eurogamer, PC Gamer, Screen Rant and Gamereactor. Five months of polish, in Metro.co.uk’s phrasing, still sat on the clock if you counted from that booth to a February 2027 ship.

Wishlists, storefronts, what not to lock

Embracer’s summer comments put a number on the April reveal: METRO 2039 raced to one million wishlists faster than any title in the group’s history, with wishlists still growing ahead of expectations. Steam lists the game as app 2590240, February 2027, Deep Silver publishing, 4A Games developing. Xbox Play Anywhere remains confirmed. An exact Tuesday inside February remains TBA. Eurogamer’s database sometimes prints 1 February as a placeholder first-of-month. That is not a 4A lock. See release date.

PC conversation at the show was as much about GPU anxiety as about knives. PC Gamer’s reading of the trailer was that a regular PC may not like the game. 4A has separately talked about a fully ray-traced renderer and a 2027 hardware bar. Platforms is the cold shower. Do not write a love letter to a 2018 laptop because a booth PC looked like a film.

What the week added to the wiki

A named hub with a political infection. A pneumatic reading of the Shatun. A physical helmet that is also a lung. A cluster of hands-ons that agree on tension, craft, and a refusal to hold your hand. A studio still talking, in Eurogamer and PC Gamer interviews, about writing a war game while living in a war. None of that moves the month off February 2027. All of it is why this recap exists as its own page instead of a footnote on the date.

If you were not in Cologne, the practical next step is unchanged: wishlist the real storefront, ignore generator blogs, rehearse the filter timer, and read how to play as if the booth demo were a warning label. Come back when a day lands. This page will date-stamp it.
